People For Bikes Black History Month Challenge
February 1-28, 2023
Celebrate Black History Month on your bike and unlock donations to organizations supporting BIPOC cyclists this February by joining PeopleForBikes’ Black History Month Challenge on Ride Spot.
If 500 people join the Challenge, PeopleForBikes will donate $2,000 each to Black People Ride Bikes and Black Girls Do Bike. Black People Ride Bikes is a Baltimore-based cycling advocacy organization with a goal of making cycling more accessible, regardless of socioeconomic background, ethnicity, or experience level. Black Girls Do Bike works to grow a nationwide community of women of color who share a passion for cycling by establishing a comfortable place where lady cyclists can support, advise, organize rides, and promote skill-sharing.
Join the PeopleForBikes Black History Month Challenge on Ride Spot and bike 54 miles during the month of February to earn a limited-edition Black History Month sticker, designed by Tyler Mishá Barnett, an illustrator and designer based in Los Angeles.
This month's Challenge goal is in honor of the 54-mile stretch of highway between Selma and Montgomery, Alabama, where Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and tens of thousands of other citizens marched to the state capitol in 1965 in a peaceful protest for civil rights. Get on your bike and ride 54 miles during the month of February to earn your Black History Month Challenge sticker
To celebrate all of your riding accomplishments in 2023, anyone who completes a monthly PeopleForBikes Ride Spot Challenge before March 31 will earn a free, limited edition water bottle to show off all of your Challenge completion stickers!
It’s never been easier to share great rides and earn rewards just for riding your bike. Link your Ride Spot account with Strava today!
